In September 2025, the Pierre Thierry Noah Foundation proudly launched the second edition of its back-to-school project, La Rentrée des Héros, in partnership with Orange Foundation Cameroon through their School4All initiative.
This project has quickly become one of our foundation’s cornerstones. In our first edition of La Rentrée des Héros in the Centre Region of Cameroon, we introduced the vision behind the initiative: ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality learning materials and the chance to thrive in school.
Why the South Region?
For 2025, we chose to expand to the South Region of Cameroon, specifically Ebolowa 1 and 2. As explained in our article on why the South Region was selected for La Rentrée des Héros 2025, this choice was both strategic and impactful. The area faces persistent educational challenges but also shows great promise. By bringing the project here, we aim to close learning gaps and give children the resources they need to succeed.
Project Implementation
Before the launch, our team carried out several descents on site to meet with local authorities and community leaders. These consultations helped us establish a list of 35 schools where the project would be implemented.
This year’s plan was more ambitious than ever, with support from Orange Foundation Cameroon:
- 210 school kits distributed
- 4,104 school manuals shared
- Over 3,000 children reached

In addition, we introduced a new component: teacher training sessions. Teachers are being trained on how to manage and preserve the shared supplies so that these materials can serve multiple pupils across several years. This sustainability-focused approach ensures that the impact of the project extends beyond one school year and benefits more than one generation of learners.
The Inauguration Ceremony
The project was officially launched on September 10th, 2025, with a beautiful inauguration ceremony at the Government Primary School Amvam-Yevol in Ebolowa 1.
The event was attended by local authorities, school representatives, and members of the community. We were honored to also welcome several TV channels, who helped share this story across Cameroon. Our media partner Axe Media provided extensive coverage, helping to amplify the project’s reach:

The atmosphere was warm, hopeful, and deeply motivating. The joy on the children’s faces reminded us why we carry this mission forward: every effort, every challenge, every moment of preparation was worth it.

Beyond the Ceremony
The inauguration was only the start. Throughout September, our team visited the different selected schools across Ebolowa 1 and 2 to continue the distribution of school kits and manuals. With every stop, we saw firsthand the transformative effect of giving children the right tools to succeed.

Gratitude and the Road Ahead
We are profoundly grateful to everyone who made this possible – from our on-the-ground team to our partners and supporters near and far. Together, we took a significant step toward educational equity in Cameroon.
But this is only the beginning. With La Rentrée des Héros, our vision is to keep growing, keep innovating, and keep reaching new regions. Who knows – maybe next year, your community will be part of the story.
